THE PCMAN - Terms and Conditions:

1.  ALL ONSITE/ONLINE/PHONE SERVICE CALLS ARE BILLABLE.  As a courtesy to existing customers, we will try to answer a MINOR PC question that you may have over the telephone.  However, “walking” you through a problem over the phone is extremely difficult for us to do, because we cannot see what you see, and there is too much room for error. 

Try our service DEBUG MY PC .   This will enable us to actually SEE what you see on your PC and fix the problem.

2.  PAYMENT IS EXPECTED AT TIME OF SERVICE COMPLETION, unless prior arrangements are made and agreed upon.

3.  The PCMAN DOES NOT ASSUME THE LIABILITY OF THE WELL BEING OF YOUR PC AFTER SERVICE IS RENDERED.  We will maintain your PC and its components in the future upon agreement with your authorization.  We will design all software/hardware repairs to your specific needs.   If you desire, we will also create a backup of all work done, in case you should run into problems in the future. At the time of service, PLEASE FEEL FREE to ask ANY questions you may have concerning your PC or the software on your PC.   However, once we leave you with your PC, we have NO way of knowing or controlling what changes (if any) may occur to your PC which may conflict with your ability to use your PC properly or connect to the internet.  DUE TO THE VARYING and UNSTABLE NATURE of PC SOFTWARE IN GENERAL, NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND IS OFFERED ON SOFTWARE INSTALLATIONS OR SETUP.  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU LET US MAKE A BACKUP OF ALL WORK PERFORMED AT THE TIME OF SERVICE. Should you have a software problem after service is completed, WE WILL NOT DEBUG your system over the telephone.  (See #1 above)  With your approval, we will restore the backup copy of work that we have performed on your PC, (assuming a backup was created).  This will require an additional billable service call, but should take substantially less time (and cost MUCH less) than having to reinstall all of your software and reformat your PC manually.  Additional work will require an additional service call if necessary.     ALL hardware purchased from The PCMAN has a standard 1 year replacement warranty.  If any hardware purchased from The PCMAN is PHYSICALLY DEFECTIVE during the warranty period, an exchange for a similar or equivalent part will be made at no cost to you.  Installation charges are additional.

4.   The PCMAN DOES NOT OFFER OR SELL SOFTWARE OF ANY KIND.  We offer software/hardware assistance and setup.   Most all Windows compatible software is tested to be compatible with Microsoft Windows (obviously), but not all Windows compatible software is tested to be compatible with each other.  It would be impossible for all software manufacturers to test their software with all other software manufacturers.  Unfortunately, unforeseen software conflicts can arise because of this.  This is why NO PC SERVICE COMPANY IN THE WORLD can offer a software warranty.  Why is this??  Most software manufacturers believe that their product is perfect and flawless, and will be very quick to blame another software company for conflicts that arise while using their software with other software which is manufactured by another (sometimes competing) company. 

5.   The PCMAN CAN NOT GUARANTEE the stability of internet connections made via Dial-Up modem, (AOL, MSN, PEOPLE PC, SURFBEST, LOCALNET, WAL-MART, ENTER.NET, EARTHLINK, etc) .  If you have ANY concerns about this policy, PLEASE consult the technician during the service call.  We will make sure you are able to connect to the internet while we are there.  However, once we leave, we have NO way of knowing what changes (if any) may occur to your PC which may conflict with your ability to connect to the internet via your telephone dial-up connection.   Software that you install, or a program that you or someone else may have accidentally downloaded, or many other conditions can affect the quality or feasibility of an internet connection via standard telephone lines.  Additionally, there are many SPYWARE and/or VIRUS type programs that can adversely affect your ability to connect to the internet.  We certainly can fix the problem should any of the above happen, but will require an additional service call at your expense.  We STRONGLY suggest that if you use the internet regularly that you upgrade to a BROADBAND connection such as Cable or DSL for greater reliability of internet service.

6. The PCMAN does not work on mechanical based inkjet printer problems.  In our opinion most inkjet are not built to last very long, additionally ink cartridges are very expensive.    We recommend the purchase of a better quality laser printer as the prices for these once expensive printers have fallen to under $300 for color and under $100 for black only.  Call us for details.

7.    The PCMAN CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR  ANY VIRUS/SPYWARE THAT MAY INFECT YOUR PC.  With your approval, we will remove the virus or spyware via online/onsite service call.  THIS CAN NOT BE DONE OVER THE TELEPHONE.
